It's a new NHL season.

General Managers of all the teams in league have been desperately trying to improve their rosters.

Whether it's through the draft or trades or by signing free agents new players are being added to teams throughout the league.    

This is a look at the new faces that have been added to the teams of the Northeast division: Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs. 

One does not have to go too far in hockey history to discover some horrifyingly bad jerseys.  A few of the current jerseys are not much better proving once again that new school is not always the best school.

However, when it comes to the best of the best, there are a handful of gems that stand the test of time. 

All aspects of the jersey design were considered--with the logo taking on premium importance in the point system.

The Stanley Cup is the most treasured trophy in the sports world.  Many players can play their entire career without raising the Cup.

This is a list of active NHL players with at least 1,000 games played who have never hoisted the Cup.  Time may be running out for these players.

No active player is a real threat to break Phil Housley's record of 1,495 games played without a Cup.  

However, there is a chance that all mentioned could gain ground on him this year as they search for the elusive prize.

Today's NHL world of salary caps, hidden bonuses, and strict roster regulations make it impossible to not understand why even the best players are often relegated to the free agent market.

Often the top defensive pair is called upon to face the quickest forwards in the game. Often these players skate well, are difficult to check, and have heavy shots.
