A Wild Trade Idea: Marian Gaborik to Ottawa for Dany Heatley?

It's a trade that would make sense, with two All-Star offensive players who contribute points night in and night out.

It is an option that Minnesota should consider. Gaborik has refused many long-term offers from the Wild since last fall and it seems that he is set on looking around league for a new home next fall.

If Minnesota trades Gaborik, they will at least get something in return rather than letting him sign as a free agent.

Stanley Cup Finals: Tribute to a Prediction That Just Might Come True

I have to admit, I don't do this often, and quite frankly, I don't condone it either.

Ah what the hell, why not?

I look back at the NHL season and playoffs and think of all the people that predicted this and predicted that. I look back on those who said it right and those who made presumptions that never panned out.

Then I look at something that was said that, at the time, I thought was bold, outlandish, and a definite uncertainty at least to me.

At WIUP-TV Channel 20 in Indiana, PA, I have helped produce and host a sports show for quite some time.

Devil's Advocate: Why John MacLean May Not Coach the New Jersey Devils

Earlier, I discussed the Devils' new coaching vacancy, and put my money (albeit not overwhelmingly) on current assistant John MacLean to replace Brent Sutter. However, I'd like to play Devil's advocate (no pun intended, I promise, it's just a coincidence) and point out what could be working against Johnny Mac.
