Zach Bogosian Video: Watch Atlanta Thrashers Star's Unique Goal Celebration
Posted 12/08/2010 - 12:08 by HockeyPolls
There is a Zach Bogosian video making the rounds of the Internet today. The promising young Atlanta Thrashers defenseman performed one of the most epic goal celebration fails of the season.
With just under three minutes to play in overtime against the Nashville Predators on Monday, the puck came loose in Atlanta's offensive zone. Thrashers forward Ben Eager took the puck, and fed Bogosian beautifully.
The 20-year-old defenseman then beat keeper Anders Lindback to score the goal. In his celebration, he attempts to spin his arm around and around, but winds up staring up at the ceiling, thanks to a lack of balance.
It's been a tough season for Bogosian, who has tallied just five points and a minus-six plus/minus rating in 22 games this season.
The former third overall pick has yet to live up to the expectations set for him due to his lofty status, struggling to become a capable NHL defenseman in his three seasons.
Still, at 20, Bogosian still has plenty of growing left to do, and he's far from being seen as a bust at this early juncture of his career.
The goal he scored was his second of the season, and gave the Thrashers a 3-2 win. Atlanta's record improved to 15-10-3, and the Thrashers sit tied for second in the NHL's Southeast Division.
Hopefully, the next time Bogosian scores a goal, he can figure out how to stay on his feet when he celebrates.
