As a kid, one of the coolest things about hockey for me was the designs on the helmets of the goalies.
From the time goalies started to wear masks, designing them in unique ways was a way for them to separate themselves from other netminders.
Gerry Cheevers’ old-school goalie mask with all of the scar marks on it was one of the first masks that had a different quality, and there have been many since.
