Detroit Red Wings Report Card: Grading the Team, Players After the First Quarter

Finally, the Red Wings played their 20th game.

It's been a successful first quarter for the team so far.

Last year the Red Wings were 10-6-4 after 20 games, but everyone knows the struggles they went through and the umpteen amount of injuries that they had.

But this year it has been different.

Though the Red have yet to put together a string of games where they play a full 60 minute game, they still find themselves with a record of 14-4-2.

After Detroit's last game against the Thrashers, it leaves a sour taste in our mouths.

But none the less, the Red Wings still have had a great start to the season.

On the road they are a mediocre 5-3-0, but at home they are a whopping 9-1-2.

It seems like a tale of two different teams but when you have only played eight games on the road out of 20, it's hard to get your legs going and the confidence to play on the road.

Here are a few cool facts:

This years edition of the Wings arrive at the quarter pole with a better winning percentage, goals per game average and a better power play percentage then that of the Cup winning 2007-08 edition of the Wings.

The penalty slightly worse than that years team as well.

But here it is, the players individual report cards after 20 games of play.
