It has been no secret that the past decade has been very fruitful in terms of talent in the NHL Entry Draft. The next wave of superstars have hit the ice, and being a fan has never been better.

The draft is certainly not an easy thing to judge. Searching through raw talent to find the best available player is certainly no walk in the park.

Oftentimes a player regarded as can’t-miss prospects doesn’t pan out.

With the NHL regular season winding down, it's time to start preparing for the NHL’s second season. Sixteen teams will vie for Lord Stanley’s Cup in what’s sure to be an exciting playoffs.

Will the Capitals solve their goaltending situation? Will San Jose keep up their reputation of postseason collapse? How far can the Canadiens make it?

Brian Propp is another one of those rare instances where the Flyers took home-grown talent and made it into a star player. Propp was the 14th overall pick in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft after scoring 168 points in 57 games in Juniors.

As the famous Dorothy once said in the popular 1930's film, the Wizard of Oz, "Lions, bears, and tigers? Oh my!"

It's a good thing she isn't around today, and if any of you feel an emotional connection to her, you should probably stop reading this slideshow right now. It is why they are consistently a threat year-after-year, and always seem to be rich with high caliber talent.
