These are the stats line for Sean Bergenheim of the New York Islanders, who’s slated to go to arbitration and possibly leave the circus that is Long Island.

A decent scoring winger who only makes $800,000 per season doesn’t sound too bad to me.

All season long, the Islanders have watched leads get away.  Tonight, the shoe was on the other foot as the Isles twice rallied from third period deficits to force overtime, and went on to defeat the Canadiens 4-3 in a shoot-out at the Coliseum.  On to the trick: 
1.  The Isles had the better of play in the first period, outshooting Montreal 15-5.  Blake Comeau, who would later leave with an injury, scored the period's only goal.  It was his 17th goal of the season (in only 61 games), tying him with Kyle Okposo for third place on the

Stat Trick: New York Islanders 4, New Jersey Devils 2

Jon Sim and Mark Streit scored 50 seconds apart in the second period as the Isles broke open a tied game and went on to defeat the Devils 4-2 on a rainy Saturday night at the Coliseum.  On to the trick:

1. The first 12 minutes were all Devils, as New Jersey had 11 of the game's first 12 shots..  Mike Mottau scored three minutes in to give New Jersey the lead.  It was his second goal of the season; both goals have come against the Isles.  Freddy Meyer tied the fame late in the first period to get the Isles into the first intermission even at 1-1.

In my earlier article today I had made mention of the flu affecting certain players of the Buffalo Sabres team. Never did I know that the entire team must have been going through sympathy illness for their ill comrades.

Tonight the Buffalo Sabres went into the island to collect what some would consider an easy two points. Problem was no one told the Buffalo Sabres about how easy those two points really should have been to attain.
