NHL Free Agency: List of Remaining Available Players Dwindling

As training camp grows closer and the heat of the free agency period in the NHL winds down, the list of available players still on the market has begun to dwindle.

With Ilya Kovalchuk finally settled on a contract with New Jersey, there are just 11 forwards and four defenseman on the list of remaining UFAs who scored double-digit points last season, in addition to only two goalies who started more than ten games.

Just a little more than 24 hours after being traded from Minnesota to Chicago, Kim Johnsson took part in a game that flashed every bit of the first two-thirds of the season.

Big scoring, a blown lead, a late comeback and a shootout thriller ended up being the recipe for Johnsson's debut.

For his part in the 5-4 Hawks win, Johnsson was good enough to earn the game's No. 3 Star.

The Chicago Blackhawks have made a trade before the Olympic roster freeze in which they acquired Minnesota Wild defenseman Kim Johnsson and 2009 first round pick Nick Leddy for defenseman Cam Barker.

Throughout most of the season it was known that Cam Barker was the most likely player to be traded during the season due to his high cap hit and average play throughout the 2009-2010 season.
