Boston Bruins Take 4 in a Row...Have They Found Their Groove?

The Boston Bruins are on a tear as they add the hot Edmonton Oilers to their list of defeated teams, extending their win streak to four games.

After the Bruins had their 4-7-0 start in October, the Bruins were outscored 24-27.

November, on the other hand, looks like the Bruins turned on a switch.

Boston Bruins and Their Painful Power Play: Ideas to Improve the Mess

We've heard and seen this before: the Boston Bruins' power play is struggling. That isn't the only thing hurting the defending champions, but with this being a continuous problem it is getting old. It's not like their power play picked up during their Cup run either; they had the worst power play ever for a Stanley Cup winning team, going 10-for-88 in the postseason.

NHL Free Agency: Joe "Scorvo" Corvo Returning to Carolina Hurricanes

Posted 07/08/2010 - 08:49 by HockeyPolls

Joe Corvo is returning to Raleigh.

After being traded to Washington at the 2010 Trade Deadline in a deal that sent a 2011 second rounder (eventually traded to Philadelphia for Jonathan Matsumoto), prospect Oskar Osala (in the AHL), and defenseman Brian Pothier (now a free agent) to Carolina, Corvo is once again coming back to a place where he just might have prospered the most.

NHL Buzz: Friday, June Fourth

Here is today's edition of NHL Buzz, featuring the latest news and rumors from across the NHL.

Like I suggested yesterday, the Buffalo Sabres ARE among the list of teams that has contacted Brian Burke and the Maple Leafs about Tomas Kaberle. The Leafs really like Zack Kassian, but if the Sabres can help it they would like to move someone else.

From Kovalchuk to Corvo, a Full Rundown of the Major NHL Trades

The NHL trade deadline has come and gone. More players and picks were dealt this season than any other. There were some big moves and some small moves.

There were some winners (Devils, Maple Leafs) and some losers (Flames). However, the sheer amount of moves is what made this trade season awesome.

This article lists the NHL trades. If I left a deal off, leave me a comment. This article is in chronological order...I think.

Carolina Hurricanes Trade Deadline Recap: Analysis & Summary

We knew it would be an active and interesting day for anyone and everyone involved in the Carolina Hurricanes organization, but several trades and a tandem of surprises are the highlights of one of the most important March 3rds in franchise history.

Gone are the likes of veterans Stephane Yelle, Aaron Ward, and Scott Walker, as well as middle-aged defensemen Andrew Alberts and Joe Corvo. But even more shocking is the fact that heavily-rumored forward Ray Whitney may be staying in Carolina.

Carolina Hurricanes Make It Four In A Row With 3-0 Win Over Avery's Rangers

The Carolina Hurricanes  beat the New York Rangers 2-0 to end the Rangers three-game winning streak and extend their own to four. The Rangers appeared to grab the lead roughly four minutes into the game, but the goal was waved off because of a hand pass and it was all 'Canes after that.

The Rangers were playing like the Old Rangers even though they had the new Sean Avery. The referee took away a goal scored by the Rangers at the start of the game and watched Avery closely for the entire game.
