Many people (myself included) thought the reason that Tomas Vokoun took a one-year $1.5 million deal with the Washington Capitals was so he could win a championship. In other words, I thought he wanted to take less to be with a winner. The Detroit Red Wings also offered around the same amount to back up Jimmy Howard.
