NHL Winter Classic 2012: Will Eric Lindros and Bobby Clarke Feud Again?

The 2012 NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic is right around the corner, and the Alumni Game is finally here.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm certainly just as excited about the Alumni Game as I am about the Classic itself. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see all of Philadelphia and New York's greats get together one last time for a historic event.

Patrick Sharp and the Players the Flyers Should Have Kept on Their Roster

Early in their history the Philadelphia Flyers were pretty good about keeping their best players in orange and black, then the 1991 NHL Entry Draft took place and the Flyers went after Eric Lindros.

Eric Lindros: 3 Reasons He Should Be Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame

Posted 06/17/2011 - 20:20 by HockeyPolls

Eric Lindros should be the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Granted, his off ice actions have always put a stain on the man, but not the player.

When voting someone into the hall, I don't think off-ice actions should really be considered; it is all about what happened on the ice.

His international and NHL stats certainly merit an induction.

Here are the three main reasons Eric Lindros deserves his spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

As always, feel free to comment with your opinion.

2011 NHL Draft: 12 Best Drafts in NHL History

At the end of every season, the NHL entry draft is held, and the general managers of each team take their best swing at securing prospects that will ultimately materialize into contributors at the NHL level at some point down the road.

A general manager's ability to do so depends on both the quality of each team's scouting department and the number of quality players available in the talent pool, which typically can't be determined until at least five years after the draft takes place.

A universal ban on hits to the heads is not happening in the NHL.

Philadelphia Flyers: Kris Versteeg and the Top 15 Trades in Flyers History

The Philadelphia Flyers were already considered amongst the Stanley Cup favorites before adding winger Kris Versteeg on a happy Valentine's Day for Flyers fans.

Versteeg was a member of the Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks, who beat Philadelphia in the finals last season, so the Flyers know firsthand what he can do.

Versteeg will play a supporting role for the Flyers, much like he did for the Blackhawks, probably on a line that will be counted on both offensively and defensively.

20 Years Later: The Eric Lindros Draft Kills Quebec and Changes The NHL

Eric Lindros.

Perhaps no player infuriates Canadians and NHL fans alike than the London, ON native who once spurned not just an entire team but a province and culture as well.

June 22 marks the 19th anniversary of the dubious 1991 NHL draft that changed the face of the NHL forever. It ended so badly, that the team for which he never played ultimately got relocated to the United States.

Hence I write this article with a heavy heart in memorial.

Could June 24 Be the Day the Quebec Nordiques Return To the NHL?

Posted 06/05/2010 - 16:40 by HockeyPolls

Depending on who you believe, there are rumors on the Internet that an announcement could soon be made on or around June 18 concerning a future rebirth of the Quebec Nordiques to the NHL and Quebec City.

While most of the chatter has been hearsay, here is an update on the Quebec situation from today's Toronto Globe and Mail. Quebec Dream Nears Reality.

The No. 1 Pick: Keep It Or Dump It?

Jonathan Tavares should be a lock to find himself the first overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The main question which is soon to be answered is where will he go. Every year there are rumors of teams trading up for the number one pick, but it often stays in the hands of the team who “earned” the pick. Looking back, many teams have been successful in acquiring the pick, others have been successful trading away the pick. Here is my list of top “Number One Pick Trades”.
