With the signing of free agent defenseman Colin White, the San Jose Sharks’ blue line is now solidified, at least on paper. The question will be whether the teaming with new defensive acquisitions Brent Burns and Jim Vandermeer will crystallize on the ice.

In a Northwest Division that is seeing many changes and makeovers, one team has made a particularly large splash this offseason.  In a pair of blockbuster trades that saw the departure of Martin Havlat and Brent Burns, the team acquired Sharks Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi.

The San Jose Sharks face some big questions heading into the offseason, having lost the last two consecutive Western Conference Finals. Making a third consecutive appearance is a feat only accomplished four times in league history, and the Sharks need to take the next step forward in order to make their first Stanley Cup Final.

With a host of free agents to consider, the Sharks must improve their depth as well as add the defender that can make the difference in their quest for the Stanley Cup.

Another disappointing season will soon draw to a close for the Minnesota Wild, and a frustrated fan base is looking forward to what should be a major summer shake up for the team.  It was made painstakingly clear this season that the team lacks a game-changing, top-six forward who can find the back of the net.  With prospects like Jason Zucker and Mikael Granlund at least a year or two away, General Manager Chuck Fletcher is forced to look outside of the organization for options.

The San Jose Sharks may want to ask the NHL to move some of their home games. With the third best road record in the NHL, they may be sorry they have only seven left in their final 20 games.

The San Jose Sharks began 2011 by losing six straight in regulation. They came into the weekend having answered with seven straight games getting a point in the standings, winning six.

In the process, they have moved up from the 11th best record in the west to the fifth. But on Saturday, they knew they were in for a fight against the Boston Bruins.

We are only 27 days away from the trade deadline and if all is right in the world, Brian Burke should be quite active in the days leading up to February 28th.

With the Maple Leafs currently standing 26th in the NHL, almost anyone on the Leafs roster should be considered trade bait. Phil Kessel, Luke Schenn, and Jonas Gustavsson are the only players that might be considered "untouchables."

But the question is: who might the Leafs acquire in any deal they make? There have already been many rumors involving the Leafs.

With the trade deadline less than four weeks away, Brian Burke will be looking for deals to improve the Toronto Maple Leafs' top-six forward group.

The current top line of Mikhail Grabovski, Clarke MacArthur and Nikolai Kulemin have been a pleasant surprise. Still, it is unrealistic to expect this line to produce on a nightly basis.

Dean Millard from Team 1260 reported that the Los Angeles Kings are trying to acquire Jarome Iginla. It was said they were offering a package that included Brayden Schenn to entice the Flames to deal their franchise forward. Bob McKenzie tweeted that this trade rumour is probably not true.

A substantial rumor has hit the Internet: that the Leafs are set to trade Francois Beauchemin and his bloated contract along with an unnamed prospect to the San Jose Sharks for forward Devin Setoguchi and a third-round pick.

Beauchemin is set to make $3.8 million this season and next, while Setoguchi will become a restricted free agent at year's end, making roughly $1.8 million this season.
