Anton Volchenkov Has the Potential to Reverse Misfortunes with New Jersey Devils

Posted 12/03/2011 - 10:52 by HockeyPolls

New Jersey Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov is in his second season in Newark. He joined the Devils last season after spending seven seasons with the Ottawa Senators, the team that drafted him in the first round in 2000.

Kovalchuk Transforms From Goat To Hero With Overtime Winning Goal For the Devils

What a difference a game makes. One night you're considered a pariah for flubbing your opportunity in the penalty shootout. Next game out you're the hero as you deliver your team's first home victory of the season late in overtime.

Enter the world of Ilya Kovalchuk.

The New Jersey Devils went into their clash with the Edmonton Oilers without the services of their inspiring captain Jamie Langenbrunner.

NHL Rumors October 11: Tomas Kaberle, Joe Thornton and More

Brian Burke is not going to ask Tomas Kaberle to waive his no trade clause. He has stated that if nothing else the Leafs get $4.25 million in cap space, so he is not going away for nothing. If Kaberle asks to be dealt it would be a different story but Burke likes his team to get together early in the year. He is not that big of a trade deadline guy.

Makes perfect sense to me. Burke has stated repeatedly he will not ask Kaberle to waive his NTC. I expect him to attempt to sign Kaberle to an extension.

2011 NHL Eastern Conference Quick Picks: Who's Out?

The 2010-2011 NHL season is finally underway and so come the questions of the season.

Will the Islanders make progress with the developing John Tavares? Will Toronto find their way out of the bottom spot? Will Montreal's signing of Carey Price be the team's demise?

According to the NHL commercial, these questions will become answers. These answers will ultimately display themselves in the final standings on April 10, 2011, the final day of the season.

The Devils travel to New York tonight to take on the New York Rangers, in their second preseason game of the year.  Coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Flyers, the Devils have a good amount of things to look forward to, and these are the specific items I will look at when I am at Madison Square Garden tonight checking out the

NHL: Grading the New Jersey Devils Offseason

Today, I am going to grade the New Jersey Devils offseason moves aside from Ilya Kovalchuk.

Traded: F Matt Halischuk and a second round draft pick

Acquired: F Jason Arnott

I personally like this move, the Devils added an experienced and skilled center in Jason Arnott; however, he is somewhat injury prone which is a bit of a concern for me.

Grade: B

Signed: D Henrik Tallinder

First off, I would like to thank Ken Beckett of Hockeybuzz.com for the idea.

NHL Free Agency: The Three Biggest Winners so Far

I know free agency is still going on and there are a lot of good players left so these picks will probably change. Here is my list of the three biggest winners so far.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils added two very good defenseman in Anton Volchenkov and Henrik Tallinder. As all of you know, Volchenkov is a big, hard-hitting defenseman who will block any puck coming his way and will give a 110-percent effort night in night out.
